After a long time, it has finally happened. The team has finally had a rider, at some point, from every single African country in OCM It took 8 years of playing, and 2 years just for the final two. With Didier Curpanen, Mauritius is the final country on the map to get crossed out.
As my interest in cycling has faded away over the last couple of years, this means that - with this big goal having been reached - the team's end is near. I will at least continue the current season, and then maybe one more. Of course, if new African countries get added, then I will return to complete those as well. Maybe I will start a new team, based elsewhere in the world, who knows...
It was a great 8 years, with memorable achievements. Riders like Vanox Kakudji, Ahmed Luyobo, Anwar Mukhtar and current World Champion in the U23 time trial Khiari Nyombi, all trained within the team. Let's not forget about the national team, either, where I managed the Central African Republic national team for the whole time. Outstanding performances were reached: top 10 in the rider ranking (Mukhtar), two surprise top division wins, 5 trophies, 3 jerseys, and (as of now) 8th place on the all-time ranking in Africa and top 200 worldwide; and Harold Tshibwabwa being one of the best cobblestone riders, if not the best, of all time in the World Tour.
That's it for now, I will probably stick around for a while, who knows what will happen next...
